International Day of Medical Physics 2025
On not just any day, but on the Birthday of Marie Skłodowska-Curie.
21.10.2025

On Friday, the 7th of November, 2025 the Chair of Medical Physics of LMU, led by Prof. Katia Parodi, is hosting an Open Day to celebrate the Intenational Day of Medical Physics, held in commemoration of Marie Skłodowska-Curie's birthday. Students who are interested are warmly invited to join for an exciting afternoon full of insights into our research!
At 2:00 pm, Prof. Katia Parodi will kick off the event with an introductory talk on the diverse paths and research opportunities in Medical Physics. Following the introduction, the afternoon will feature a varied program including keynote talks by professors and researchers of the department, poster sessions showcasing current research projects in Medical Physics and guided laboratory tours among others through the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications on the Garching research campus. Registration for the tours will be carried out on-site. The event offers the unique opportunity to talk directly to researchers and students and find out about career opportunities. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
